Janine, I hope you've had all the bad luck that will come your way for a long while.....so frustrating when things seem to just keep happening.

Marsha, I hope Michael's appointment went well, and that you will get a good report from your MRI.

Margie and I have had a nice time and I'll be sorry to see her leave tomorrow. Yesterday we visited the restored village of Old Salem and had a wonderful lunch in the tavern dining room. I also took her to one of my favorite stores that sells beautiful Christmas ornaments all year long....y'all know she had to get a beagle ornament! After that we went to Childress Vineyards (owned by Richard Childress the racecar driver) and toured the winery. While we were waiting for the tour to start they gave us a sample of some frozen wine drinks.....the winerita was peach flavored and absolutely delicious. After the tour we decided to forego the tasting and just have one of the frozen drinks instead. Once we got back to the lake we went down to the pier and fed the ducks and fish. The ducks were hilarious....three of them who appeared to be about half grown. When they saw us throw bread into the water they started swimming so fast that they seemed to levitate out of the water. There were lots of little catfish in the water about 4 inches long, so when we tossed in the bread we had a fish and duck feeding frenzy.

Today we drove out into the country to visit an Amish General Store, then went to another vineyard where we did the tasting but not the tour. After that we managed to get sort of lost while looking for a place that a friend told me I just HAD to visit. The website did look wonderful, so it seemed worth driving to what seemed like the end of the world to get there. Imagine our surprise when we walked in and the place was next to nothing! Oh well, it gave us a good laugh once we got back in the car.

Hope everyone has a great weekend.
