Congratulations Shannon for doing so well....hopefully you'll be over the quota!

Babalu has come a long way in the two years since he's been here, but he's still the most neurotic creature I've ever seen. Loud noises and sudden movements make him frantic, but at least he doesn't hide for long periods of time anymore. He likes to lie on my bed during the day and if I walk in the room and don't make eye contact with him he'll stay put, but if I look at him he'll scoot to the other side of the room. He does a weird thing that I've never seen another cat do, and I think he does it to comfort himself.....he'll make sucking noises while making a low growly noise in his throat.

We rolled out 266 pie crusts this morning, put them in the pans, and then froze them til we're ready to put the pies together next week. For the first hour or so it was just the 87 year old twin aunts and me, so they rolled while I put crusts in the pan. Eventually my other aunt and her friend showed up, so I started rolling as well. This aunt is always finds something to whine and complain about, so I'd almost rather she stayed at home! She's been hypercrital for 85 years, so I don't supposed she's going to change!

Janine, from what you said about the rest of Russ' family, his mom probably enjoys getting together with the two of you without the others around. Her energy level sounds like that of my twin aunts. Today when we finished in the church kitchen I was getting ready to mop the floor and Aunt Elsie kept insisting that I should let her do it.

Marsha, I once saw a software program advertised that was able to "detect and ignore" cat like typing. Maybe you should look into that! My guess is that she was rubbing up against the computer with her face and body and pushed against the switch with her nose. It makes me think of a cat I used to have who would sit on top of the clock radio and change the time and alarm settings. I thought my clock was broken because the time was always wrong, then one day I saw her sitting on top of it and the numbers were spinning around like crazy. She actually had to push two buttons at one time in order to change the setting, and I suppose she liked sitting there because it was warm. I finally started keeping a book on top of the radio so she wouldn't sit there.

It has tried all day to rain, but hadn't managed to do so until within the last hour when it started to sprinkle. Weatherlady just said it's going to rain all night and into tomorrow and may be heavy at times. Sounds as if its going to be a good day to stay home and do nothing.
