It has been an extremely stressful day. I had to cancel my doctor's appointment because my
morning client had to go to the ER - she had a ride to get there, but NOT to get back home, so I cancelled my appointment to go pick her up. She told
me she'd wait in the lobby - but she wasn't in either the main lobby or the ER lobby - tho the receptionist in ER said she HAD been there for a long
time, but didn't know where she went. I walked all over the hospital trying to find her - the receptionist called the other departments trying to find her
- the hospital FINALLY issued a "code grey" - which meant that someone was missing. We finally found her OUTSIDE which would have been FINE if
she'd SAID she'd be outside waiting. I spent about half an hour wandering around looking for her. She'd had a shot for pain - but couldn't
get any pain meds which is really why she went to ER. I understand that she has pain - I also understand that it WILL get worse - but she's known all week
that her meds were low - and she needed to contact HER doctor (she's on a "pain contract" and no one else EXCEPT her doctor or ER can prescribe
any kind of pain meds for her). She's out of meds - and HER doctor was out of the office, which she also knew. It took me 3 weeks to get the appointment
I had to cancel - yeah, I was a bit upset. I took her home and sat with her for a couple of hours then went to afternoon client. She KNEW I had the
appointment and could have called and seen her regular doctor earlier in the week. And my doctor wants to know WHY my bp is so high. I feel like my life
totally revolves around her and my dogs. When is my turn?
